Barbara Burke
Barbara Hannah Anita Burke (born May 13, 1917 , in Norwood ( London ); † August 8, 1998 , in Johannesburg , South Africa ) was a British athlete and Olympian.
At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , she won the team silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay race together with her teammates Eileen Hiscock , Violet Olney and Audrey Brown behind the team from the USA (gold) and in front of the team from Canada ( Bronze). In the 100-meter run , she was eliminated in the semifinals after 12.2 s.
With a height of 1.77 m, her competition weight was 63 kg.
