Audrey Brown

Audrey Kathleen Kilner Brown MBE (born May 24, 1913 in India , † June 11, 2005 in Manchester , after marriage to Audrey Court ) was a British athlete and Olympic competitor. She was the sister of Olympic champion Godfrey Brown .

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , she won the team silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay together with her teammates Eileen Hiscock , Violet Olney and Barbara Burke behind the team from the USA (gold) and in front of the team from Canada ( Bronze). In the 100-meter run , she was eliminated in the preliminary run.

She set her best time in the 200-meter run of 25.4 seconds in an international match in Paris in 1937. Over 100 meters she ran her best time of 12.3 seconds in Vienna in the run-up to the European Championships in 1938 . She was then eliminated in the semi-finals, the British season was disqualified.

She was the sister of 1936 Olympic gold medalist Godfrey Brown and 1934 Empire Games bronze medalist Ralph Kilner Brown . She was awarded the Order of MBE for her social commitment.
