Eileen Hiscock

Eileen May Hiscock (born August 25, 1909 in Blackheath , † September 3, 1958 in London ) was a British athlete and Olympian.

Life and Achievements

At the British Championships she won the gold medal over 100 yards in 1930. Over 100 meters, she won gold in 1933, 1934 and 1935. In 1933, she won the gold medal in the 200-meter run . Hiscock won the gold medal over 100 yards at the British Empire Games in London in 1934 in front of the Canadian Hilda Strike (silver) and the Englishwoman Lillian Chalmers (bronze) and the gold medal over 220 yards in front of the Canadian Aileen Meagher (silver) and the Englishwoman Nellie Halstead (Bronze).

At the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles , she won the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay race together with her teammates Gwendoline Porter , Violet Webb and Nellie Halstead, behind the team from the USA and the team from Canada . At the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin , she won the team silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay with her teammates Violet Olney , Audrey Brown and Barbara Burke behind the team from the USA (gold) and in front of the team from Canada (Bronze).
