Barbara Erdmann

Barbara Erdmann (born July 25, 1929 in Cologne - † June 17, 2019 in Berlin ) was a German artist in the fields of painting and textiles .

Life

Barbara Erdmann came to Berlin as early as 1931, where she completed her school days. From 1951 to 1956 she studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin, where between 1958 and 1967 she also held a teaching position in the field of “Textile Design”. In 1976 she was appointed professor of textile design there. In 1995 she retired. Erdmann's artistic focus was painting and textile design, scientifically she devoted herself to cultural-historical research.
