For Décroze, her works and forms represent “borrowings from nature”, she says: “The material and at the same time the meaning of my work comes from reality. This is the basis of my work. As soon as the object is installed, it integrates. ”This is how great objects were created and have been on display in many exhibitions since 1987. The main materials in her work are wood. Metal and textile or feathers, plus tar, paint, felt and wax, but also plastic, silicone and concrete. She likes to use mixed media on canvases. Décroze has also made a name for herself as a stage designer .

Décroze is literarily and philosophically influenced in her thinking and work, mainly based on Henri Bergson , Gilles Deleuze , Maurice Merleau-Ponty , Paul Valéry or Paul Virilio , but also on Hubert Nyssen . In the fine arts , Joseph Beuys means a lot to her.

Myriam Décroze was married in Berlin and has one son. She currently lives and works in France. As a lecturer she teaches at the " École des Beaux-Arts " du Genevois . Her works are shown in the “Musée des Beaux-Arts” in Chambéry .
