Hubert Nyssen

Hubert Nyssen (born April 11, 1925 in Brussels , † November 12, 2011 in Paradou ) was a French publisher , essayist and writer .

Life

Hubert Nyssen has been committed to literature since childhood. After receiving French citizenship in 1976 , he founded the Actes Sud publishing house in Arles in 1978 . Literary greats like Paul Auster and Nancy Huston were discovered by Nyssen. Nyssen's own works have been and are in part also published in Germany.

Nyssen was on the board of Actes Sud and was married to Christine Le Bœuf. The daughter Françoise Nyssen (* 1951) joined the company in 1987.
