Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann (* 1950 in the Rhineland ) is a German architect. Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann has been President of the Federal Chamber of Architects since 2013 .

Education and professional activity

Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart from 1969 to 1974 and then worked from 1974 to 1975 as a research assistant at the Institute for Urban Development at the University of Stuttgart. From 1975 to 1977 Ettinger-Brinckmann was a freelance researcher at the University of Kassel and at the Office for Monument Preservation of the City of Kassel. From 1977 to 1980 she worked in the office for requirements planning / work group usage research (ANF) of Peter Jockusch.

Ettinger-Brinckmann has been a member of the Hessen Chamber of Architects since 1980 and is thus registered as a freelance architect. In the same year she became a partner in the office for demand planning / work group usage research of Peter Jockusch and Manfred Hegger . In 1993 she founded her own office ANP (Architecture and Use Planning GbR) in Kassel . In 2008 the office was renamed ANP Architektur und Planungsgesellschaft mbH, Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann and Michael Bergholter were appointed as managing partners.

The office of ANP Architektur und Planungsgesellschaft mbH is primarily active in building construction planning, but also in the field of urban development / urban planning and process management outside of Germany. The work in the urban planning area covers the fields of land-use plans, master plans, framework plans and urban design. The office also works in process and competition management and oversees competitions in urban planning and building construction according to GRW , RAW and RPW .

Ettinger-Brinckmann is a member of the SPD . This fact came into the discussion in connection with the appointment of the SPD politician Florian Pronold as director of the Berlin Building Academy , in which Ettinger-Brinckmann was involved, because Pronold did not have the competencies mentioned in the job advertisement. When she voted for her party comrade Pronold, she was not aware that a professionally relevant degree was required for the position.

On September 27, 2019, Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon as part of the German Architects' Day.
