Barbara Gurtner-Schwarzenbach (born September 6, 1943 ) is a Swiss politician ( POCH and Green Alliance ) who was active in parliaments, especially in the 1980s.

Political activity

Barbara Gurtner represented the POCH in the National Council from November 28, 1983 to November 29, 1987. She politicized for the left party in the city parliament of the city of Bern , in the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern and in the National Council, and in particular represented concerns of the women's movement . In 1984 it caused a sensation in the National Council during the debate about so-called leopard tanks with a leopard costume.

As a senior citizen she is a member of the grandmothers revolution .

Life

Barbara Gurtner grew up in Spiez as the daughter of an artist. She worked as a commercial clerk at the University of Bern and later as an adult educator . She is the mother of two daughters, has four grandchildren and lives in Bern.
