Career

Claudia Bernasconi (born July 26, 1983 ) is a Swiss osteopath and track and field athlete . She specializes in long-distance runs and became Swiss champion over 100 km in 2019 .

Life

Bernasconi lives in La Tour-de-Peilz and works as an osteopath in Vevey .

She danced ballet for 20 years at the École de danse classique Schild in Lausanne. Since 2010 she has been affiliated with the CA Riviera athletics club in Vevey. In 2015 she won her first national medal in the marathon with a 3rd place in Lucerne .

After the birth of her daughter Giulia in 2018, she resumed training under the direction of the French Bruno Heubi. In the same year she started over 100 km for the first time on the Biel running days and became Swiss champion.

  • 2018: Swiss Champion Marathon: 2:50:35 in Bregenz
  • 2018: Swiss champion 100 km: 8:53:34 in Biel
  • 2015: 3rd place Swiss Championship Marathon: 2:49:54 in Lucerne

  • Marathon : 2:46:15 h, April 28, 2019 at the Zurich Marathon
  • 100 km: 8:18:28 h, June 8, 2019 on the Biel running days

Awards

  • Bernasconi received the Vaudois Sports Prize in 2019 .
