Barbara Küper
Barbara Küper (* 1956 in Münster ) is a German literary agent and translator .
Life
Barbara Küper studied German , English and Romance languages in Würzburg, Freiburg, Southampton and Salamanca. After completing her master's degree, she worked from 1983 to 1985 as a research assistant at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg in the Medieval Studies department .
From 1986 to 1990 she worked as a publishing editor and " Manager International Rights and Licenses" at Arena Verlag . From 1990 she worked as a program manager at the publishers Arena , Baumhaus, Ravensburger and Sauerländer .
In 2003 she founded a literary agency and has since represented German authors , European illustrators and international publishers , specializing in the field of children's and youth books . It mediates works in German-speaking countries. In addition to managing the agency, she also translates children's and youth literature , mainly from English.
She lives and works in Frankfurt am Main .
