Barbara Krahé

Barbara Krahé (born April 28, 1955 ) is Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Potsdam .

Krahé studied psychology , English and educational science from 1973 to 1978 at the University of Bonn and from 1975 to 1976 at the University of Sussex . She did her PhD in Dr. phil. in 1981 at the University of Bonn. Her habilitation took place in 1987 at the University of Koblenz-Landau .

Research and Teaching

Her focus is on sexual aggression and social information processing in a legal context ( rape myths and distortions of judgment when assessing sexual offenses ). Krahé was co-editor of Aggressive Behavior magazine and is a member of the editorial boards of several journals. In 2015 she received the German Psychology Prize for her achievements in the field of social psychology .
