Barbara Regitz

Barbara Regitz (born January 20, 1958 in Nuremberg ) is a German politician of the CSU . In 2018 she was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament.

Life

Regitz grew up in Nuremberg in the St. Johannis district, later in Ziegelstein. She obtained the Abitur at the Labenwolf-Gymnasium Nürnberg and studied elementary school didactics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . She then worked as a primary school teacher and later became the deputy headmistress at the primary and secondary school in Holzgartenstrasse. Between 2002 and summer 2018 she was the seminar rector for Middle Franconia and supervised primary school trainee teachers in Nuremberg at the Bismarck School . With the additional qualification of German as a second language, she also acquired the title of "intercultural advisor" in order to prepare young teachers for dealing with children with a migration background. Regitz plays guitar and piano, and is also a certified choir director. She also organizes sheep head courses for women together with Marga Beckstein, the wife of the former Bavarian Prime Minister Günther Beckstein. and is the author of the book "Meine kleine Schafkopffibel" Barbara Regitz is Roman Catholic, married and lives in the district of Nuremberg-North

politics

In 1980 Regitz joined the CSU because, according to its own statements, it felt that the division of Germany was unjust and therefore wanted to become politically active and campaign for the preservation of freedom, prosperity and civil and human rights.

In 1996, at the suggestion of the then CSU district chairman and Bavarian interior minister Günther Beckstein , she ran for the Nuremberg city council, to which she was a member for the following 22 years. The focus of her communal political engagement was education and cultural policy. Regitz was the spokesperson for the CSU city council group on education and women's issues.

She still holds the office of district chairwoman of the Frauen Union Nürnberg-Fürth-Schwabach. In the state election on October 14, 2018, she was elected as a direct candidate in the district of Nuremberg-North in the Bavarian state parliament. Regitz received 27.8 percent of the first votes. In the state parliament, Regitz is a member of the petitions committee , the education committee and the broadcasting council . For the CSU parliamentary group she is the spokeswoman for seniors.

Positions

Barbara Regitz is particularly committed to a greater participation of women in politics and a better work-life balance. She also campaigns for a good school education, as well as for lifelong further education and training.
