Barbara Stucki

Barbara Stucki (born May 26, 1988 in Langnau im Emmental ; resident in Röthenbach BE) is a Swiss politician ( GLP ) and a member of the Canton of Bern .

Political activity

Barbara Stucki has been a member of the Green Liberal Party Switzerland since November 2016. She was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern on the occasion of the general renewal elections on March 20, 2018 , where she represents the green liberals of the Biel-Seeland constituency. From June 1, 2018 to March 5, 2019, Barbara Stucki was a substitute member of the State Policy and External Relations Commission of the Grand Council. She has been a permanent member of this commission since March 6, 2019.

On September 1, 2019, Barbara Stucki was elected Vice President of the Green Liberal Group of the Grand Council.

On June 29, 2018, Barbara Stucki was elected to the board of the New Energy Bern entrepreneurship initiative. Since December 4, 2018, she has been Vice President of the Green Liberal Party of Zealand.

Her political focus is on economic, social and environmental policy. As one of the few openly lesbian politicians, she is particularly committed to the concerns of LGBTIQ + people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, inter queer +).

education and profession

Barbara Stucki completed an apprenticeship as an E-Profile clerk from 2004 to 2007 and then continued her education as a business economist and in online communication. Today she works as a project manager in communication and organizational development.

Personal

Barbara Stucki grew up in Trubschachen in the Emmental, lived in the Bernese Seeland and now (2019) lives in Stettlen BE. When she was elected in 2018, she was the only openly lesbian canton parliamentarian in the canton of Bern.
