Barbara Terpoorten (also Barbara Terpoorten-Maurer or Barbara Maurer , born on June 5, 1975 in Visp as Barbara Maurer ) is a Swiss actress , director and radio play speaker .

Life

Barbara Terpoorten grew up in Brig in the Swiss canton of Valais . She received her training as an actress from 1996 to 2000 in Zurich at the Theater Academy , Acting Academy Zurich . She then had various engagements in Switzerland and Germany , including at the Schauspielhaus Zurich , the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg .

From 2000 to 2009 she was a member of the artist group «400asa». In 2010 she founded the theater group “Sempione-Productions” with Rolf Hermann and Daniel Imboden .

Barbara Terpoorten became known to a wide audience in 2013 through the Swiss television series Der Bestatter , where she played the Aargau commissioner Anna-Maria Giovanoli .

Barbara Terpoorten has been married to the German actor Siegfried Terpoorten (* 1971), whom she met in Zurich, since 2001 . At times they lived in Berlin, today they live with their two children in Zurich. The two appear together on stage and in the film. For example, her husband plays the psychiatrist named Krafft in the series Der Bestatter , or they appear in the Finnish film Tappava Talvi as the German couple Klaus and Adrienne Mueller .
