Barbara Wulff

Barbara Wulff (born March 15, 1952 in Bremen ) is a German social scientist and politician ( SPD ). She was a member of the Bremen citizenship .

education and profession

After primary school, Wulff attended high school on Waller Ring in Bremen from 1963 to 1971. After graduating from high school, she studied social sciences at the University of Göttingen from 1971 to 1978 and graduated in 1978 with a degree in social economics . This was followed by a freelance academic activity in Bremen until 1979. She then worked as a research assistant at the Senator for Social Affairs, Youth and Sport in Bremen in 1980/81, and in 19982/83 as assistant to the Bundestag members Claus Grobecker (SPD) and Ernst Waltemathe (SPD) in the constituency office in Bremen. From 1985 to 1987 she was a research assistant at the main welfare office of the state of Bremen and from 1989/90 a consultant at the non-profit association for victims and witnesses of criminal offenses, Bremer Hilfe eV

Wulff has been a member of the SPD since 1975. There she worked in various functions as a subdistrict and state delegate and board member of the SPD. From 1990 to 2010 she was chairwoman of the SPD local association Gröpelingen and from 1988 to 1990 and 1998 to 2002 a member of the SPD state executive .

On February 7, 1990, Wulff succeeded Sabine Uhl in the Bremen citizenship, to which she belonged until 2003. She worked in various deputations and committees of the citizenry. From 1991 to 1995 she was the spokesperson for the Deputation for Youth Welfare, from 1995 to 1999 Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs and from 1995 to 2003 a member of the Deputation for Social Affairs and Youth. From 1992 to 1999 she was a member and from 1999 to 2003 chairwoman of the parliamentary committee on equality for women. For the SPD parliamentary group she was youth policy spokesperson from 1991 to 1999, foreigner policy spokesperson from 1995 to 1999 and women's policy spokesperson from 1999 to 2003.

After 2003 she continued to belong to a deputation of the citizenry. After 2003 she worked in the district council of Gröpelingen, among other things as spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group.

Since 2003 Wulff has been a member of the advisory board for the Gröpelingen district and since 2007 the spokeswoman for the SPD advisory group.

  • From 1995 to 1999 Wulff was the deputy chairwoman of the youth welfare committee in Bremen.
  • She has been chairwoman of the Association for the Promotion of the City Partnership Bremen- Izmir since 2002 .
  • She has been a member of the board of directors since 2003 and from 2005 to 2009 deputy chairwoman of the Bremen Women's Committee .
  • She is still u. a. Member of the workers' welfare organization , the ver.di trade union , and Pro Asyl .
