Barbara Zoeke

Barbara Zoeke is a German psychologist and writer .

Life

Barbara Zoeke spent her childhood in the Thuringian Vogtland, but did her Abitur in Düsseldorf. She went to Cologne and Münster to study. She initially graduated with a diploma in psychology and later did her doctorate and habilitation. She traveled to the USA for research stays. For several years in the 1990s she was on the board of the "International Society of Comparative Psychology". Later she was employed at the University of Münster , as well as in Frankfurt, Würzburg and Munich. In addition to scientific work on perception and memory , she publishes narrative prose , poetry and non-fiction texts. Barbara Zoeke has lived in Berlin since spring 2008.

Her novel The Hour of the Specialists was awarded the Brothers Grimm Prize of the City of Hanau in 2017 .
