Barbara von Trüllerey

Barbara von Trullerey (first mentioned in 1495 ; † 20th April 1525 in Schänis ) was abbess of the pen of canonesses in Kloster Schänis in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland .

She came from the Aarau knight family of the Trüllerey. She became abbess in 1495 and remained so until her death in 1525.

In 1495 she gave the Meierhof Knonau to Johannes Meyer von Knonau . With their help, Gommiswald broke away from the parish of Benken . In 1506 Barbara von Trüllerey had a new choir built in the collegiate church and in 1512 the pilgrimage chapel of St. Sebastian. In 1511 she signed a treaty on case rights with the Einsiedeln monastery .

Barbara von Trüllerey was in contact with Joachim Vadian and Huldrych Zwingli .
