Barge (stade)
Barge is a district in the south of the city of Stade . The old settlement area was first mentioned as a field name in 1337 together with Riensförde .
Until the 18th century, Barge consisted only of a full farm, two cottages and a mill. In the 19th century the population rose to a good 100. In 1934, the Stader Air Base was built in the Barge district . For this reason, Barge was incorporated into Stade on August 15, 1935. South of Barge is the Barger Heide , a protected part of the landscape in 1989 and a nature reserve since 2017 , which served as a military training area from 1871 and from 1935 onwards .
