The Barker Range is a mountain range in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It extends in a northwest-southeast direction on the southwest side of the Millen Range in the Victory Mountains . It includes the Jato-Nunatak , Mount Watt , Mount McCarthy and Mount Burton .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountain range after Major James Richard Millton Barker (* 1926), commanding officer at Scott Base from 1970 to 1971 and manager of the New Zealand Antarctic Program from 1970 to 1986.
