Edgewood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Coal Township in Northumberland County , Pennsylvania , United States . At the time of the 2000 census, Edgewood had 2,619 residents.

Edgewood's geographic coordinates are 40 ° 47 ' N , 76 ° 35' W (40.788976, -76.576913). The place is on the south side of Big Mountain . Edgewood borders Shamokin to the east and Fairview-Ferndale to the south . With these Edgewood forms a contiguous settlement area, but is delimited as an independent village mainly by the Furnace Run , which drains Edgewood. According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 1.3 km 2 , all land.
The Edgewoods road network is connected to the Shamokins and Fairview-Ferndales road network in only a few places. The two streets west of Edgewood from Shamokin - West Water Street and West Walnut Street - keep their names. Most of the other streets also bear the names of the streets in Shamokin or Fairview-Ferndale, the extension of which they would theoretically form if they were linked. The only streets that connect Edgewood to Fairview-Ferndale are Fir Street and Oak Street. The roads running in the north-south direction in Edgewood have the addition of North and the roads in the east-west direction of the addition of West .

The population of Edgewood consisted of 98.63% of White , 0.15% Black or African American , 0.04% Native American , 0.46% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0.15% said other races to belong and 0.57% named two or more races. 0.38% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
