history
Their beginnings go back to 10/11. Century. In 1764 the nave was demolished and a new building was built by 1766 according to the design of the rococo master builder Johann Georg Leydel , which was destroyed in a major fire just 13 years later. In this fire, 47 houses and the school building were also destroyed. The church was rebuilt by 1795, and an organ by the Kleine brothers from Freckhausen was installed.
The dominant features of the church is of a combination of the " principal elements constructed" altar, pulpit and organ pulpit altar . The structure is symbolic: the sermon (the pulpit above the altar) and chanting (the organ high above the altar) spring from the Word of God , the Bible open on the altar, which quotes the words of the institution of the Lord's Supper from 1 Corinthians ( 1 Cor 11 : 23-26 EU ).
Baroque organ
The organ is special in that it is the largest still playable and used baroque organ in the North Rhine region. It is a work created in 1794 by the brothers Johann Christian and Johann Gerhard Kleine from Freckhausen in the Oberbergisches Land, is a listed building and was restored from 2005 to 2008 by the master organ builder Hubert Fasen (Oberbettingen) according to the existing original construction plans. In April 2008 the completion of the 350,000 euro work was celebrated with a festive service. The disposition is as follows:
