Barry John Bridges (born April 29, 1941 in Horsford , Norfolk ) is a retired English football player and football coach .

Career

Bridges was signed by Chelsea in 1958 after good games at Norwich and the Norfolk Boys. In February 1959, the striker made his debut for the Blues against West Ham United . The League Cup was won in 1965. After a successful year in London , Bridges moved to Birmingham City for £ 55,000 in May 1966 , which was the club record at the time. After spending two years in Birmingham , Bridges also played for Queens Park Rangers for two years, Millwall FC for two years and Brighton & Hove Albion for two years . He ended his playing career with St Patrick's Athletic and Sligo Rovers in Ireland . Internationally, the Englishman played four times for his homeland and scored one goal against Yugoslavia . In his last two player stations, he was player-coach before he worked full-time in smaller clubs such as Dereham Town and Heresford United.
