Barry Stokes

Barry Stokes (* 1944 ) is a British actor.

He made his debut in the 1964 series Crossroads . On TV and a. popularized as Jim Haines in the series Moon Base Alpha 1 , he was also known as a film actor alongside Jean Seberg in Juan Antonio Bardems drama La Corrupción de Chris Miller (Mask of Horror) in 1973 . 1975 followed the title role as Bob in the comedy The Ups and Downs of a Handyman by John Sealey , 1978 the lead role of Anders in the horror film Prey and 1979 that of Oliver in Norman J. Warren's Outer Touch . Jacques Demy gave Barry Stokes the male lead of André Grandier in Lady Oscar , the feature film version of the Japanese manga, in 1979 . The German director Gabi Kubach hired him a year later for the role of Frank Davies at the side of Claude Jade in the Vicky Baum film Rendezvous in Paris . He also gained popularity on German television with the role of Gar in the multi-part series The Last Days of Pompeii (1984). His last cinema appearance was in 1985 in the supporting role of Huck in Wolfgang Petersen's Enemy Mine .
