Jukkasjärvi is a place ( Tatort ) in the northern Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historical province of Lapland .
The place is in the municipality of Kiruna at an altitude of 321 meters, about 200 km north of the Arctic Circle .
Jukkasjärvi was first permanently settled in the 17th century. At first only a pastor and a bell ringer lived in the village with their families for a long time, but towards the end of the 18th century Meänkieli- speaking Swedes also moved there.
The most famous tourist attraction is the world's first ice hotel .
