Övre Soppero ( Finnish Yli-Soppero , North Sami Badje-Sohppar ) is a village ( Småort ) in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historical province of Lapland . She belongs to the Kiruna community .

The population of the place sank continuously from the middle of the 20th century (441 inhabitants in 1960) to finally below 200, so that the place lost the status of a crime scene in 2015 .

In Övre Soppero there is a gas station, an inn, a kiosk and a school.
