Bartłomiej Mróz (born on August 9, 1994 in Kędzierzyn-Koźle ) is a Polish badminton player . He was born without a right forearm and starts in Parabadminton in the starting class SU5 in singles and doubles. Mróz aims to participate in the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo .

Athletic career

Bartłomiej Mróz completed training at a sports school in Głubczyce from 2010 to 2013 . From 2013 to 2016 he studied sport at the Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego Józefa Piłsudskiego w Warszawie in Warsaw . From 2016 to 2018 he completed a master’s degree at the Wyższa Szkoła - Edukacja w Sporcie w Warszawie , a private sports university in Warsaw designed to meet the needs of competitive athletes.

At the European Badminton Championships for the disabled in Dortmund in 2012 , Mróz won silver in the singles, in the final he was defeated by the Turkish İlker Tuzcu . The following year Mróz also reached the individual finals at the Badminton World Cup for the disabled , but lost to Cheah Liek Hou from Malaysia. In doubles he lost to the Malaysian duo Suhaili Laiman and Cheah Liek Hou with İlker Tuzcu . In 2014 he lost again to Tuczu in the singles final of the European Championships in Murcia , with whom he won the double title. In 2015 Mróz failed in Stoke Mandeville in the singles final against Cheah Liek Hou and in doubles with Tuzcu against Liek Hou and Hairol Fozi Saaba . At the 2016 European Championships in Beek , after a defeat against Tuzcu, he again stayed silver in the singles, and both won the doubles title together. In Ulsan , South Korea , it was enough for Mróz at the Parabadminton World Cup 2017 through a semi-final defeat against the Indonesian Suryo Nugroho only for bronze in the individual. At the European Badminton Championships for the disabled in Rodez in 2018 , Mróz was able to defeat his long-standing rival and doubles partner İlker Tuzcu for the first time in the individual finals. Both won the doubles title against the French Meril Loquette and Lucas Mazur . As in Ulsan, Mróz was eliminated in the semifinals of the Badminton World Cup for the disabled in Basel in 2019 against the Indonesian Suryo Nugroho.
