Bartholomäus Kistler (attested from 1486 to 1520; † 1525 or earlier) was a Strasbourg printer.

The painter from Speyer acquired Strasbourg citizenship in 1486, but did not set up a printing press on Grieneck ( uff Grüneck ), opposite the hospital, until around 1497 . In 1509 he ceded his bookstore in the Münster to Mathis Hupfuff. From 1517 to 1520 he was a member of the Stelz guild of the Strasbourg council. He had already died in 1525 when Hans Grüninger appears as the guardian of his daughter .

According to the ISTC , Kistler printed over 30 prints , mostly in German, by around 1500 alone. His most famous book is the German-language version of Columbus' letter. Among other things, Kistler probably printed the Swabian Chronicle of the so-called Thomas Lirer in 1499 with attached event notes of Strasbourg origin. The most recent print is the Sigenot , dated 1510 (VD16 S 6393). A total of 52 prints by Kistler from the period between 1497 and 1510 can be identified.
