Bartholomäus Meier , also Bartholomäus Meyer (born January 6, 1528 in Alsfeld , † October 15, 1600 in Kassel ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

life and work

Meier studied at the University of Marburg from 1543 and obtained his master's degree in 1548. In 1550 he became professor at the philosophical faculty and in 1554 at the theological faculty. In addition, from 1555 he was pastor at the Deutschhaus . In the first half of 1559 he was the rector's office of the university, but in May he took over a pastor's position at the Martinskirche in Kassel, where in 1561 he was also dean of the canons. From 1570 he also served as superintendent of the diocese of Kassel. In the spring of 1600 he was released from his duties due to incapacity for work
