from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bartholomäus Scherrenmüller , partially latinized Bartholomaeus Schermüller de Aula (* before or around 1450 in Aalen ; † after 1493, possibly in Tübingen ) was a German physician and university professor.

After studying in Erfurt in 1469 and completing his master's artium (1476) , Scherrenmüller moved to the University of Tübingen , where he was a professor at the artist faculty in 1477 and professor of medicine in 1492 .

Count Eberhard im Bart and his wife encouraged Scherrenmüller to translate medical writings into German. Handwritten are:

  • a health regime ( regimen and stay of the Gesunthait ), translated and edited in 1493 from the Summa conservationis et curationis of Wilhelm von Saliceto
  • Book of the Wundartzny , a partial translation of the six-volume Chirurgia of Pietro d'Argelata.

A pregnancy regimen by Scherrenmüller has not been preserved.
