Bartholomew Katsouris

Bartholomaios (Katsouris) ( Greek Βαρθολομαίος (Κατσούρης) , born June 11, 1928 in Athens ; † August 27, 2014 in Eleusis ) was an Orthodox clergyman and metropolitan of Megara and Salamis in the Church of Greece .

Katsouris studied law and theology at the University of Athens. On January 2, 1954, he was ordained a deacon and a priest in 1958 in the Panagia Myrtidiotissa monastery on the island of Kythira . He was chancellor and preacher of the Panagia Myrtidiotissa monastery. He was Secretary and General Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece from 1967 to 1974 .

On May 27, 1974, he was elected bishop and metropolitan of Megara and Salamis.

He is the author of numerous studies and theological works.
