Bartolomé Island is one of the smaller and geologically younger in the Galápagos Islands . It is located slightly east of San Salvador (Santiago / James) and has a size of 1.2 km². It is named after Sir Bartholomew James Sulivan of the Royal Navy .

The highest point on the island is 114 meters. Special attractions are the beaches, the Pinnacle Rock (German rock needle , Spanish Pináculo ) , which can often be seen on photos of Galápagos , as well as Galápagos penguins and fish stocks.
