Bartolommeo Gamba

Bartolommeo Gamba (born May 16, 1766 in Bassano del Grappa , † May 3, 1841 in Venice ) was an Italian bibliographer and biographer .

Gamba came to the Remondini family's printing works in Bassano del Grappa as an assistant at the age of ten, where he trained as a bibliographer through private diligence. After Remondini's death, he founded his own bookstore in Padua and subsequently acquired the printing press in Venice, known as Alvisopoli . In 1811 he was appointed censor of the Adriatic provinces, later vice librarian of the Biblioteca Marciana in Venice, and died there on May 3, 1841.
