Bartosz Mariusz Piasecki (born December 9, 1986 in Tczew , Poland ) is a Norwegian sword fencer .

Career

Bartosz Piasecki moved with his family to Norway in 1988, where he started fencing at the age of eight. The coach was his father Mariusz Piasecki , who competed for Norway at the 2002 World Cup . Piasecki's sister also took up fencing.

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 he was in the battle for gold after winning against Yannick Borel in the quarter-finals and against Jung Jin-sun in the semifinals. There he met Rubén Limardo , who he was defeated by 10:15. For winning the silver medal, he received the Fearnleys olympiske ærespris award . In 2015 he won the bronze medal at the European Games after a semi-final defeat against Sergei Chodos .

Piasecki has a computer science degree from the University of Oslo .
