Bas van Velthoven (born February 26, 1985 in Hazerswoude-Rijndijk ) is a Dutch swimmer .

Van Velthoven has specialized in the 50 m and 100 m freestyle. He currently lives in Amsterdam and is trained there by Martin Truijens . In March 2008, at the European Championships in Eindhoven, he achieved the bronze medal with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. Only a few weeks later, at the short course world championships in Manchester in 2008 , he won the silver medal in a European record time together with Mitja Zastrow , Robert Lijesen and Robin van Aggele in the 4 × 100 m freestyle.
