The Basharat Mosque in Pedro Abad

The Basharat Mosque ( Urdu مسجد بشارت Masdschid Baschārat , German 'good news' , Spanish Mezquita Basharat ) was inaugurated on September 10, 1982 in Pedro Abad ( Province of Cordoba , Andalusia ) by Mirza Tahir Ahmad , the spiritual head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community . It is the center of the Spanish branch of this religious community, whose annual meeting ( Jalsa Salana ) is held here.

The foundation stone for the mosque was laid by the third caliphate ul-Massih Mirza Nasir Ahmad on October 9, 1980. It is the first mosque to be built in Spain in over five hundred years. M. Karam Ilahi Zafar has also been the first Islamic missionary since that time.
