The Basilica Peak is a 1,810 m high mountain of granite at the Oates Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the southern Wilson Hills, it rises 3.5 km southeast of Mount Gorton .
The survey work of the United States Geological Survey between 1962 and 1963 and that of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1963-1964) were used for mapping. The New Zealanders named it after its shape reminiscent of a basilica .
