Basic data
Basic data is the basis of every information system and cannot be specifically assigned to any specialist discipline, but is of general importance.
For spatial information systems ( GIS , LIS ) of a federal state or a municipality (municipality) that would be
- Administrative boundaries ,
- the digital cadastre ,
- the network of the main lines (electricity, sewer, water),
- Aerial images , remote sensing images from satellites ,
- the digital terrain model (elevation model) DTM etc.
The geodesist or the surveying office is usually responsible for obtaining the basic data .
In contrast to this are the factual data or technical basic data . They "arise" in a specialist department or are "managed" there, but are often of interest to other departments (e.g. waterway network , transport network or data on building land ).
