Bassori (spelling variant: Basori ) is a town in the West African state of Gambia .
According to a calculation for 2013, there are around 2,701 inhabitants, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 1,670.
geography
Bassori is located in the West Coast Region , Kombo East District , around 3.2 kilometers south of Tubakuta and 5.7 kilometers south of Madina Ba . The place is on the one of a road that branches off the South Bank Road at Madina Ba and leads south to Senegal . In Senegal it is called N 5 .
An official burial site for the victims of the sinking of the Senegalese ferry Le Joola has been set up in Bassori .
