Bastøy is an uninhabited island in the Oslofjord , the northernmost fjord of the Skagerrak , in the municipality of Horten in the Norwegian province of Vestfold og Telemark .
The 2.49 km² island is used exclusively for the operation of the Bastøy prison located on it .
