The documentary tells of the battle for the Aleutians in World War II. After Japanese units occupied the islands of Kiska Island and Attu in June 1942, American troops had to set up on the island of Adak . The film describes everyday life under the tough conditions. The soldiers are accompanied on their patrols. A crash landing and a funeral are also shown.
The American Air Force carried out bombing raids on Kiska with type B-17 and B-24 bombers from Adak .
