Winning Your Wings is an American documentary from the year 1942 .

action

An airplane lands on a runway, the pilot gets out of his plane and walks towards the camera. It is the USAAF - Lieutenant James Stewart . Stewart answers questions from young men from all walks of life. He assures that anyone can join the air force and that they are covered under labor law, school and family.

This is followed by a demonstration of the patterning process, followed by recruit training and flight training.

In 1943 the film was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Documentary .

The propaganda film was produced by Warner Bros. in association with the United States Army Air Forces . The premiere took place on May 28, 1942.

Leah Baird , Don DeFore and Dolores Moran appear in the film in small supporting roles.
