Batman - The Dark Knight in Six Flags New England ( Agawam , Massachusetts , USA ) is a steel roller coaster of the Floorless Coaster model by the manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard , which opened on April 20, 2002.
This roller coaster should not be confused with the Batman The Ride roller coasters in the other Six Flags Parks, as these are not floorless coasters, but inverted coaster .
In North America, it was the first roller coaster of this model to be equipped without a block brake halfway along the route.
At Six Flags New England, this roller coaster was the eighth and also the only B&M roller coaster in the park.
layout
The layout is compact but has five inversions . The steep descent turns 180 ° to the left and sends its passengers into a loop . After the loop there is a dive loop and then there is a 180 ° left curve. After the bend there is a photo station, then a zero-g-roll , which does not allow the passengers to feel any gravity for a moment . The last two elements are interlocking corkscrews , which put the passengers on the final brakes.
As a special feature, the routing consists only of interlocking elements, because all inversions (rollover) are pierced by other inversions or sections of the route. The loop is pierced by the 180 ° left-hand bend and the zero-g-roll leads through the middle of the dive loop. The interlocking corkscrews are available in one form or another, also on many other roller coasters.
Trains
Batman - The Dark Knight has two trains with seven cars each. Four people (one row) can be seated in each car. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.
