Map with all coordinates: The Batman Highway is an expressway in the north of the Australian state of Tasmania . The four-lane road connects the West Tamar Highway (A7) via the Batman Bridge , which is the only bridge north of Launceston to cross the Tamar River , with the East Tamar Highway (A8).
The road link opened in 1980 is also important for traffic between the areas west of the river and the port city of Bell Bay .
