Bauerloch near Neuffen

The entrance is in the uppermost part of the Bauernloch Gorge near Neuffen in the Esslingen district at around 590 m above sea level. In heavy rain and when the snow melts, the Dürrenbach rises from the entrance of the Bauerlochs , and large parts of the cave are then completely under water. In dry times, the stream only emerges at around 520 m above sea level in the lower part of the valley. Driving into the cave is therefore dangerous.

The Bauerloch is protected as a geotope under the number 13634/934 and also as a natural monument under the name Bauerlochhöhle und Magerrasen im Gewann Bauerlochberg with the protected area number 811-60462912.
