Farmhouse in Gablers in 2011 (before renovation)

The farmhouse in Gablers , a district of the Buchenberg community in the Bavarian-Swabian district of Oberallgäu , essentially dates from around 1553. In 2011, the farmhouse was entered in the Bavarian list of monuments.

description

The building corresponds to the typical scheme of farms in the southern Allgäu with a two-storey residential area facing east and an adjoining business area. The floor plan of the living area corresponds to the so-called "Allgäu three-room cube", which means that the almost square living area consists of three rooms: a wide corridor with a cooking area lying across the ridge , the living room with light from two sides and the matrimonial bedroom.

The upper floor corresponds to the layout of the ground floor. However, the upper floor was slightly modified in the 19th century. The residential part of the property has many old parts: Numerous rucker windows , wall and ceiling paneling and doors, especially from the 19th century. The plank-beam ceiling in the lower room is dated around 1553.

The plastered stand block construction has a flat inclined purlin roof . The economic part, which has been changed several times over the years, was divided into a stable and a barn .

The building was renovated from 2012 to 2017 in accordance with a listed building.
