The Treetop Walk Bavarian Forest is a 1,300 meter long tree top walk in the municipality of Neuschönau in the Bavarian Forest National Park . Visitors can find out interesting facts about the trees in the national park and - provided there is a good view - can see as far as the Alps . At least when it opened on September 9, 2009, the treetop path was the longest in the world. The tourist attraction is operated by the Erlebnis Akademie AG company .
construction
The 1,300 meter long treetop path leads from the parking lot at the animal free area in the Lusen National Park Center to an observation tower and ends at the Hans Eisenmann House . The path is at a height of 8 to 25 meters. A special attraction is the 44-meter-high, tree -shaped observation tower in the shape of an egg . The way up is via a 520 meter high ramp. The path is designed to be barrier-free and only has a maximum gradient of 6%. The observation tower is also barrier-free up to 40 meters, only the last 4 meters have to be climbed from a platform via stairs.
opening hours
The path is open all year round except for the revision times and December 24th. The opening times during the day are adapted to the seasons. In extreme weather conditions (thunderstorms, hail, storms or ice) the observation tower is closed, possibly the entire path.

Erlebnis Akademie AG designs, builds and operates low-barrier nature adventure facilities and currently has three other treetop paths in Germany: the treetop path in the Rügen Natural Heritage Center , the treetop path in the Black Forest and the treetop path in the Saarschleife . In the Czech Republic it is involved in the Lipno Treetop Walkway and the Krkonoše Treetop Walkway as part of a joint venture , in Slovakia in the Bachledka Treetop Walkway and in Slovenia in the Pohorje Treetop Walkway. In Austria, Erlebnis Akademie AG operates the Salzkammergut Treetop Walk through a subsidiary.
