Baya Medhaffar ( Arabic بايا مظفر, DMG Bāyā Muẓaffar ; * April 14, 1995 ) is a Tunisian film actress and singer . For the role of Farah in the film drama soon as I open my eyes of Leyla Bouzid was for "Best Actress" at the Festival international des jeunes réalisateurs of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and the Ibis d'Or for "Best Actress" at Festival du cinéma et musique de film de la Baule awarded.

Life

Medhaffar, daughter of artists, comes from Tunis and also lived in Paris . Already at the age of a very small child, the mother would have taken her to the cinema and sometimes explained the whole film to her, that is how the actress's love for the cinema began, Medhaffar once said in an interview. In 2010 she attended a Lycée pilote (note: secondary school) and then a Lycée français . She learned guitar and singing at the Django Reinhardt Music School and the oud lute playing at the Zyriab Music School in Tunis. During the filming of her acting debut in Barely Open My Eyes , she earned her Baccalauréat . Although she was interested in acting, she did a 2-year degree in License Arts du spectacle - Cinéma at the University of Paris VIII from 2014 to 2016 . In 2019 she was a jury member for the "Long Documentary Films" section at Gabes Cinema Fen Festival.

Before she was cast by Bouzid for the role of Farah , Medhaffar had previously worked with a director on an unfinished film project. For the main role in the film I hardly open my eyes , she made her debut as a singer as well as acting. All songs in the film were played by the fictional band Joujma , for which Medhaffar was the lead singer with Farah . In addition to the awards for “Best Actress” at the Festival international des jeunes réalisateurs de Saint-Jean-de-Luz and the Ibis d'Or at the Festival du cinéma et musique de film de la Baule, she was also honored as “Best Actress” at Receive Riviera International Film Festival. In 2018 she played the role of the nurse Fatima in the short film Craché Dehors by director Mathieu Lis.
