The Bavarian Athletics Association e. V. (BLV) is a member of the German Athletics Association as one of the 20 regional professional associations . It is organized in the BLSV . It is based in the House of Sports in Munich. The FSVO consists of seven districts and 23 districts. With around 140,000 members, it is one of the largest state associations in Germany.

Organization and structure

The Bavarian Athletics Association is the umbrella organization for the athletics clubs in Bavaria. According to its statutes (new version: November 24, 2000), the FSVO takes on the legal form of a registered association (eV).

As a state professional association, the Bavarian Athletics Association is organized in the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV).

The close cooperation between the regional professional associations and the regional sports association creates the conditions for fulfilling individual goals and tasks. In addition to financial support, it promotes the work of the association, the construction of sports facilities and the interaction between the regional professional associations organized in it. The umbrella organization assumes the professional support of its associations. In the case of the FSVO, this is the German Athletics Association (DLV) at the federal level. While the work of the BLSV is more about monetary and cross-sport support, the tasks of the DLV are geared towards the subject area '' 'Athletics' ''. The FSVO and the other state associations mainly concern the developed concepts for the areas of competitive sport , popular sport and training.

Districts and counties

The FSVO is divided into seven districts (corresponding to the Bavarian government districts) and 23 districts (as of 2019).
