Bavarian sports performance badge in bronze (patch)

The Bavarian Sports Achievement Badge , abbreviated to BSLA, was awarded to adults by the Bavarian State Sports Association after they had performed a specific, various sporting performance in recreational sports . The BSLA was awarded from 1949 to 2012. The reason was the reform of the German sports badge , which from 2013 also includes different performance levels.

There were three levels of performance - bronze, silver and gold - and it was awarded by handing out a certificate and, if necessary, shown by the athlete with a badge. Depending on the level of performance achieved, the badge was awarded once a year in either bronze, silver or gold if the performance was achieved in all five groups within a calendar year. H. if the applicant for the silver badge achieved a gold performance in one group, the bronze performance in another group was sufficient to compensate. Another example: If the applicant achieved a special achievement for the gold badge that was the same as the one required for gold, plus or minus the difference between silver and gold, then he only needed to achieve the silver achievement in any other part of the examination in order to obtain the gold badge . The bronze achievement had to be achieved in all cases. Achievements of the German sports badge could not be linked or credited.

The BSLA in gold with the number of repetitions (5, 10, 15 etc.) was awarded to those who were able to present the corresponding number of confirmed award certificates in gold or who were 50 years of age (women 40) and who had passed the SLA in gold at least once. All previous and further awards, also in bronze and silver, were recognized for the corresponding number.

In contrast to the German sports badge , the BSLA was able to award the gold badge immediately. The badge is not a badge of honor recognized by the Federal President , cf. Awards for sporting achievements recognized by the Federal President .
