Beşköylü Adem

Beşköylü Adem (born March 1, 1980 in Beşköy , Trabzon ; born as Adem Ekiz ) is a Turkish singer and musician .

Adem Ekiz grew up in Beşköy Village in Köprübaşı County . In elementary school, he began to play the kemençe , a string instrument native to the southern Black Sea region. After finishing school he moved with his family to Istanbul , where he lives today.

The musical style of Beşköylü Adem is traditional and typical of its origins in the Trabzon region . In the albums he has released so far, he sings not only his Turkish songs but also occasionally in Pontic Greek (Romeyika), which he speaks fluently as a native speaker. This has also earned him a fan base in Greece . In his second album ΡΩΜΑΙΚΑ ΤΡΑΓΩΔΙΑΣ , which he released in collaboration with Nikos Michailidis and Philippos Kesapidis, he sings exclusively in Pontic Greek.
